EP Minerals Named Finalist for EDAWN’s Leader in Sustainability Award

September 21, 2016

EP Minerals has been named a finalist for the Leader in Sustainability Award by the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) in EDAWN's annual Existing Industry Awards. EDAWN holds the annual awards to honor companies that have brought jobs to Northern Nevada and also have demonstrated excellence in other key areas.

To be considered for the Leader in Sustainability award, EP Minerals had to document how we manufacture products and provide services that enable our customers to conserve natural resources and reduce their carbon footprint. We also had to substantiate that we have implemented resource saving and recycling initiatives. “These primary companies that are being recognized represent only about four percent of the companies in the region, yet they are responsible for approximately 50 percent of our jobs and essentially drive our economy,” said Mike Kazmierski, CEO of EDAWN.

Last year, EP Minerals was a finalist for Company of the Year, and in 2014, EP received Congressional and Senatorial Recognition with the EDAWN Founders Award because of our 70-year history in Nevada and economic contribution to this area.

The Existing Industry Awards will be at the Atlantis Resort Spa Casino on October 13 at 5 pm. Nearly 50 companies have been nominated in 10 different categories.
